News flash! Jury trials are resuming at Washoe County District Court in April 2021.
Criminal cases will receive priority. The Court has implemented COVID-19 health and safety measures, including specific procedures for jury selection and voir dire, jury deliberation and requirements for trial procedures such as witness questioning and delivering opening and closing arguments. The resumption of in-person trials reflects the welcome decrease in COVID-19 cases in Washoe County and, we hope, a welcome return to a new normal. The Court is also exploring the use of civil trials by Zoom.
